Welcome to the Yeovil & Dorchester Model Racing Car Club. Y.D.M.R.C.C. The Club races mostly 1/10th Electric scale touring cars but we try to cater for everyone so will try to run most things.
The club is at Clay Pigeon Raceway Kart circuit which is half way between Yeovil and Dorchester on the A37 at Warden Hill. We are inside the grounds of the kart curcuit but have our own permanent area for the track. We have recently fitted a new AMBrc system so competitors can use one of the 10 hand out transponders or their own personal transponder fitted into the car they are using.
The Y.D.M.R.C.C. track is a tarmac surface with green painted islands. We have a permanant track design that can be run both clockwise and anticlockwise, and we are able to make a shorter circuit if necessary during the winter months.We have both a covered rostrum and indoor pit stations.
The club has the use of the kart tracks facilities with on site WC, There is a burger van open on site when there is Kart racing, and the clay pigeon resturant a short walk away.
If you are serious about you racing of just out to have fun then Y.D.M.R.C.C. is for you. You will find a warm and freindly welcome waiting for you, beginner or experienced racer alike. The track is available for use virtually all year round seven days a week for practice, whereby an honesty payment scheme is in place. For new members the first race meeting is free so you can see if you like us before applying for membership.
We normally race on a thursday night where you need to be booked in by 7.15 for racing to start at 7.30 and we also try to run a sunday morning race meeting once a month with booking by 9.45 for racing to start at 10.00. Dates and times are available on the club calender and updates from our chairman ( TREV ) on the club forum.
We also run our own club championships events with the top three in each class winning trophies, New for 2009 the club has introduced a junior class to run alongside our championships and a YOUNG DRIVER AWARD for the junior members to compete for on a bi-monthly basis.
We also hold special club events and have become a round of the southern league challange cup details of
which can be found in the news and calander pages of this site.
